Pies on the Kop watching Liverpool F C - JOE3
Joe Scarborough painted this one from memory, because the original was lost for some time. There are a number of items different can you spot them? Do you remember going through the Bill Shankly gates to the tea stand on the Kop. In those days they sold the best meat pies washed down with a cup of Oxo, but no prawn sandwiches like you’d expect today. What a different Liverpool we have now with the Albert Dock, a huge tourist attraction down by the Pier Head from where the Ferry Crosses the Mersey and you never walk alone in these busy streets of Liverpool. Spend sometime looking at the detail that Joe has captured, Paddy's wigwam on the city skyline. There is no Maggie May anymore but you might find her in Yates Wine Lodge on a Saturday night.
